What he said made me take a new look on how people look at our race and why they think the way they think about us. I think if we change the way we act and start acting like more proper young lady's people would look at our race much more differently

I feel that he was telling the truth about what he was saying but I don't feel that he should treat his kids like that he should let them see the struggle because if not they wouldn't know how it will be in life

When I seen this video I wonder why do he take the money instead saying he don't need it because he said he go to big events and they pay him and he at the school for free so why you couldn't tell the other people you don't have to give me money I will do it for free.

What he said showed me that people look down on our race. It let me see that we should let them know that not every black boy and girl is a criminal or aggresive. I feel that he is trying to get us to know that we can be something other than just black.

The part of this video that made me think the most was when Eric Thomas gets upset with the teenagers' disrespectful behavior and tells them that the only people that ever disrespect him are people of his own race. When he said this, I thought back to my past assemblys and remembered how rude we were to the people that had taken their time to come and speak with us. This is when I realized there were truth in his words.

When I watched this video it made me realize that not everyone who is around you genuinely doesn't really care about you, only the people that loves you. I also felt his frustration, when the teenagers were being disrespectful when he was talking.

It's messed up, but very true that we as black people take for granted the opportunities given to us when it's right there in arms reach. Instead of listening and realizing that we've come so far, we've become so defiant and ignorant to the fact that people have risked their lives for us. Eric Thomas was right when he said that you must do what you have to do in order to live the type of lifestyle you want.

When I seen this vedio I thought that he cared about them and wanted them to know that they can really do something with there life. What was also true he said that "when people care and love about you don't treat them like dirt". The most important thing he said was that when he go to a different race shcool they are quiet but when he go to a black shcool they are talking. This means that sometimes we could just be quiet and listen sometimes.

This video showed the truth of how the urban comminity and the rate at which students are disrespectful. Even though most of the things are given to us, but we choose to make jokes about the serious things in life. Being appricative of what you have and what others give you was a main focus. Respect was also main focus especially to the ones you love and love you. Eric Thomas camparing how he grew up and what he wants for his own kids was his ambition for being better anting more. In conclusion this video was able to make me think about what I have and what I want and need to accomplish.

The things stated in the video regarding the reactions of the students just shows how things like dedication and passion have been made trivial in the minds of today's youth. This has lead to inaccurate depictions and generalizations that have molded the way African American youth is viewed by others. 8/7/2016 09:16:44 pm
This video is an example of how most black are. We take things for granted when we have great opportunities dead in our face. This man came from wherever he was to his home town to prove that us kids can do anything if we set are mind to do it. This man came from nothing to an inspiration. In my conclusion, this man has shown me that anyone can do anything no matter where you come from and no matter how you were raised.

When I watch this video it makes me realize how the African American race is looked down on. I agree with everything Eric Thomas told the students. I believe many African Americans are set up for failure , yet some choose to fail because of peer influences. I believe that if some children had the extra motivation they need they would succeed better. I believe that when some African American children see a person of a different race they know that they should act better then they would normally. I believe when they see people in their family or even people they look up to do things they should follow . I believe African Americans are looked down on because of the image that is portrayed .

What he said is true, that we don't really try, we just pick anything. The people who are around you might not care about you. Also went people see us, African American, that think we are dumb and can't achieve anything. So I agree with everything Dr. Thomas said because I think African American are being over look.

This video is about how others think about African Americans. They think we are uneducated, that we are loud, and don't want anything in life. The man in the video cares about how he's own people are doing. He just wanted to tell those young people that if you really want something important in life work hard for it so other people don't think down on you.

My opinion about when he said when people go to a black school or when he went to a black school 20% of the kids are disrespectful and loud. I honestly think that's true because last year we had an assembly and this is the same thing that happened.

The things that were stated in this video were true. The way that African Americans act today show other people how we don't appreciate the opportunities that are given to us. We are looked down on because of the way we present our selves. Nobody wants to help some one who acts a fool all of the time.

I Understand When He Said About How The Kids Were Being Disrespectful Which Was True And How He Was Saying That We Don't Get Enough Respect Because Of Our Race So Therefore I Believe That It Is True People Do Look Down On Us Differently Because Of Mainly Social Media Like The Stuff We Post.

All the things he said in the video were true. I felt that he would've been the best person to talk to them because he understand where they come from and hes been through it. But, it was very disrespectful when he was talking and wanted to laugh because non-thing was funny, its also disrespectful because he takes time out of his day to talk to kids, African American kids for no cost.

I some what argee when he said that if he go to a white school (etc) that the kids would be listening and taking notes but all kids are not the same. It's not the us black kids don't listen everybody just not raise the same. We can't force anybody to learn but yes I understand that some kids of ourr face can be disrespectful and rude because they act like they have no home training. I just feel like the way he said it make it seem races because he black his self and I know he wasn't a good child his whole child hood. So maybe us blacks just need to be more respectful at time like this and just pay attention more.

When I see this video I agree on what he is saying. I think how what he said can not get even more truthful than it is. This is how every other race see's us; hard headed, ignorant, black people. Even though we are the most educated, and can become billionaires, have good jobs, like anyone else but he tell how African American youth is still viewed by others.

I thought he was being real about what he said he was speaking the truth and i see why he said that some black people don't act right in a lot of community's but its very few that don't act right but the majority of black people sit there and listen.

when i seen this video, it made me feel bad because slaves and black people did fight for education. It made me change the way the outside world looks at us because we are black. I took offence to what he said about the differences between black schools or other race schools.

This video was about how black people are actually putting their selves out their the bad way. They act bad and be disrespectful. So the outside people will see that and that's what they will be judge for the rest of their lives if they don't change. This video really touched my heart because it shows me how the outside people judge us because of our actions.

I think he is kinda right about he can go to a Hispanic or white and etc school and they sit quiet, but come to a black school and they're laughing and talking. I say this, because a guest once came to our school and he was talking and people wasn't respecting him they were talking while he was talking and laughing to.

Eric Thomas showed me that we are worth more than we think. We as black/brown people we make all the trends and yet we are still in an unstable neighborhood. He even took his son out of the hood to break the cycle. Most of our families have some kind of generational curse. He is telling us and encourage us to stick together and make something positive happen as black /brown people. On the media , we are known as ghetto, load, ignorant, etc. Everyone loves our culture and calls it's there own even if we do something ignorant like make a dumb rap or song. So why not use our voices to do or make something positive? With that being said, I do think it was a good thing for Eric to take his son away from the cycle but I also think he should let his son learn from others mistakes so he won't do or be the same . Enough said.
